The Best of Phillip Island - Post Lockdown

Phillip Island Nature Park

Have you been daydreaming about the first trip you’ll take post lockdown? Well the time of daydreaming and wishing the days away has finally come to an end and all of us here at BIG4 Phillip Island Caravan Park are so excited to welcome you back! We’ve put together a few must do activities for you and your family to experience while in Phillip Island, and best of all, we can guarantee that they’re all open and welcoming visitors.

Penguin Parade

You may have tuned in to watch the penguins waddle up the beach from the comfort of your couch during lockdown but there’s anything better than seeing the Island’s main attraction in person! The Penguin Parade is once again open and excited to welcome you back. You can catch the world’s smallest penguin every night at sunset as they waddle from their daily sea adventures to their homes in the sand dunes. It’s a magical experience and a favourite amongst our young guests who can learn more about these penguins and the research that goes on to protect the island’s wildlife. Due to social distancing guidelines, only 150 visitors will be able to attend each night and a number of their tour options will not be operating. Make sure you book in advance to secure your tickets!

Go Karts

In the mood for something adventurous? Look no further than Phillip Island Go Karts! The 750m track is a replica of the world-renowned Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. Situated alongside the circuit and overlooking Bass Strait, the smooth curves and super-fast straight of this unique Go Kart track are strung along some of the most breath-taking coastline on the Island. Just make sure you book in advance as booking are now mandatory.

Eat Out @ MadCowes

Lockdown may have been a great time to discover your inner chef, but nothing beats going out to a wonderful café or restaurant and sharing a meal with friends and family! Indulge in a delicious breakfast or brunch at one of our favourite local spots, MadCowes. Located in prime position along the esplanade, you’ll be spoilt for choice when picking your favourite dish. You can’t go wrong with their Pancakes of the Week, a famous meal in Phillip Island.

Wander the extensive trails through the natural Australian bushland and keep an eye out for other animals too, you might be lucky enough to spot a wallaby or echidna!
